Some time ago Liz and I asked the Kids what animals they would like when we moved to our farm (read: a house on a few acres with some woods, a vegetable garden, and maybe a few chickens). "Umm. Chickens. A cow," Oh wait, I tried to interject and explain, but they were on a roll "some sheep. A goat." A goat? "And horses!"
Of courses. There's no real horse on our farm, but we compromised with this wooden horse toy.
This horse is made from oak wood. You know oak. Mighty tree. Little Acorn. Oak is a nice wood and looks great. And don't confuse this real oak with all that imitation veneered on ugly cabinet stuff. This is the genuine wood.
Like all of our toys, you don't need to worry about the toy breaking a week after you get it - it's made to be passed down to another generation. The horse is about 4-3/4 inches long, 4-1/4 inches high, and around 3/4 inch thick.
This toy is intended for children over 3. It's not a teether, but is safe if toddlers take a taste test. This animal is finished with a natural and non-toxic beeswax polish we make ourselves and leaves this wood animal with a smooth finish.

Every animal is unique so grain orientation and color may vary (images with more than one animal show how different animals vary).
