Whenever I played The Game of Life as a kid I always loved the Yak. I think if you landed on the space your bought the yak, or inherited it. And if I remember right, you had to pay some large sum for the privilege. My mother would wind up more often than not landing on that space, so it became a bit of a family joke. I've always thought fondly of yaks ever since. This toy, then, is a bit of my childhood crafted into a piece of wood.
Our toy yak is made from maple (a tough wood) and is about 3" high, 3-3/4" long, and about 3/4" thick. As with all our toys, we've sanded the wood and all the edges edges of this toy smooth so it will be delicate in the hands of your little one.
This toy is intended for children over 3. It's not a teether, but is safe if toddlers take a taste test. This toy is finished with a natural and non-toxic beeswax polish we make ourselves and leaves this wood toy with a smooth finish. All colors you see are natural - we use no stains, dyes, or paint.
