We have a little boy mad for robots. I let him play with our robots, but they're a little delicate and don't like being turned into a hammer (toddlers!). So I came up with a robot just for little tots.
TECHNICAL READOUT:
The robot toy is made up of only two pieces (plus the walnut mouth and eye dowels): the body and feet. Grooves were cut slightly into the wood to set off the arms, waist, and neck. The legs have an air gap between them. The pieces are securely glued together and everything is sanded super smooth. The primary wood, ash, is tough (think baseball bat swinging for the seats) and will stand up well to loads of play.
This is not intended as a teether, but is safe if toddlers take a taste test. The robot is finished with a beeswax polish we make ourselves. Non-toxic and safe for kids of all ages. Stands about 5-3/4" tall and 3" wide.
WARNING: If product is abused, it can be broken presenting a choking hazard. Not for children under 3 yrs.
